Getulio Vargas Foundation and VALE are the organizers of this conference. We selected a group of experts on the economics and econometrics of commodity prices to discuss this important worldwide topic, which has been prevalent in explaining the recent behavior of the Brazilian economy. We invite academics, business economists, and policy-makers to join these experts in discussing several important aspects of commodity prices, including relevant lessons applicable to the experience of developing nations as well as issues that have global economic impact.
